Apostasy




Apostasy (video artwork, duration: 6min)

Video artwork APOSTASY is questioning the act of reading the historiographical fact in a specific context, renouncing the different types of identities.

Entombing of the female doll, burning the shoes and in the end the ritual of the purification with ashes is just a symbolic procedure, customs which are taking out their own meaning from the specific context, whereas the hint of this context is given at the beginning of my artwork (and yet not transparent), the work itself imparts the indication of a story, but still everything remains at the level of this indication. In that sense, this work largely insists on historiographical metafiction. In this case this work refers to a particular historical event, which reshaped the history of Europe, in religious-spiritual sense in the Middle Age. Of course, I will not identify the event, because it is only the paradigm of historical processes and their interpretations through historiography.

Excommunication – ALCHEMICAL STRUCTURE OF THE CROSS

Multimedia installation ALCHEMICAL STRUCTURE OF THE CROSS, tries to examine, map and problematize the reading of the layering of one of the most widespread symbols in the history of the civilization.

The focus is placed on the historical-hermetical aspect of the cross, which in this case means that the cross is not being observed as a space-religious, but as a time-archetypical artifact, which is in its own manifestation reading off and generating all of the symbolic meanings in the continuum of the history of the longue durée  (Term used in the historiographical school Annales, whose foremost representative is Fernand Braudel).

This artwork is grounding its manifestation on the formal level through unique reading of the archetype, and at the same time, it is inaugurating its narrative identity through the partial meanings.


The emphasis is laid on the complex process of transmutation between different symbolic values that are incorporated into the structure of the cross, and the interspace which opens for different readings of this work.


















MONOLIT

An object in space MONOLIT, which takes part in the art exibition Collaps into Future, is reffered to Clarck’s and Cubric’s idea from the book and the movie: 2001: A Space Odyssey.

The artwork represents a kind of dystopia, whereat instead of the optimistic evolutionary cycle and the attempt to contact and communicate with other extraterrestrial civilizations, emphasis is given on the anticipation of the future dominated by negative scenario.

MONOLIT, which impersonates driving momentum in the evolution of the consciousness in both the book and the movie, shown in my artwork as the artefact full of garbage, portrays the end point and the range of the evolutionary-conscious process, denuded in its hoplessness, summarizing the tragedy, the failure and the unworthiness of the entire human race in a given act of the permanent evolution of the consciousness.
